Meridian Teleradiology Finds Success with RamSoft and Radical Radiology

(Toronto, ONT, Canada – September 13, 2010) The relationship a busy radiology practice maintains with its Radiology IT vendor is crucial to its success. They must be confident the vendor is providing a solution that can be relied upon to maintain patient/provider information and supplies the necessary tools to interpret patient studies and distribute reports in a timely manner. They must also trust their distributor to provide exceptional training, be responsive and resolve technical issues promptly.

This is why Jonathan S. Dorn, MD decided to maintain his relationship with RamSoft and distributor, now partner, Radical Radiology when he opened Meridian Teleradiology in Merritt Island, FL. Dr. Dorn stated, “Ken Trotman and the staff at Radical Radiology played such an important role in making my individual practice successful — we simply wouldn’t have considered moving to a larger national teleradiology practice without their being a part of it. RamSoft is a great product and allows us capabilities and intuitive use that we could not find anywhere else. We find that most of our clients that already have a PACS in place use our RamSoft PACS more than they use their own.”

With additional offices in Birmingham, Alabama, Meridian Teleradiology provides preliminary and final interpretation services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all major modalities to a client-base across a large geographic area. They use RamSoft’s PowerServer to collect their client’s studies into a universal worklist at which time, reports are generated and automatically faxed or emailed to the ordering physician and facility or they are made available via the Referring Physician Portal. In addition, a number of clients are provided with long term archival of studies both on site and off site using RamSoft Gateway’s archive capabilities as well as Meridian Teleradiology’s redundant PowerServers.

Radical Radiology, Meridian’s technology backbone, manages the fully redundant LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including web hosting, image management and report distribution services, with an uptime percentage of 99.9%, thus ensuring the RamSoft PowerServer efficiently and securely routes patient studies to appropriate/qualified reading radiologist. Ken Trotman, President of Radical Radiology stated “After nearly 10 years of working with RamSoft, we are proud to be part of the RamSoft family. They have always been receptive to our contributions for enhancements and new development. Our partnership with both RamSoft and Meridian Teleradiology has vastly increased our capabilities to help other teleradiology clients in their endeavors.”
