30 Years of Imaging Innovation

1994 Founded

RamSoft is Born: From Garage to Global Vision

Dr. Ramanathan founds RamSoft in Toronto.
The company debuts its first DICOM software at RSNA 1994, attracting the attention of Canadian Trade Officers and laying the groundwork for a global imaging company.

First RSNA exhibit — DICOM software for the modern age

1995 - 2000 Product Launch

PowerServer® Introduced

RamSoft launches PowerServer®, a cloud-based RIS/PACS that becomes one of the most adopted platforms in North America for independent imaging centers and teleradiology groups.

2001 - 2005 Global Expansion

Going Web-Native

In 2003, RamSoft® pioneers a fully web-based platform — years ahead of the industry.
PowerServer® TELE PLUS teleradiology solution launches in 2004.
In 2005, PowerServer® XU PACS enters the US market (X-Ray & CR).

2006 - 2010 Platform Expansion

New Markets, New Capabilities

Next-gen PACS launches in 2006 alongside PowerCache image caching technology, followed in 2007, by Gateway™ DICOM Router.
Then 2008 saw PowerServer® Cloud launch with a single mobile viewer database RIS/PACS solution.

Democratizing imaging access worldwide

2011 - 2015 Certifications and Credibility

Built for the Enterprise

PowerServer® 5.1 achievs complete EHR ONC ATCB certification in 2011.
By 2014, Essence™ BI — a business intelligence module for PowerServer® — has entered the market.
2015 marks the attainment of ISO 13485:2003 certification.

RamSoft hit three major milestones in just four years.

2016 - 2020 Cloud-Native Solutions

Intelligence, Compliance, and Cloud Partnership

In 2016, Stana™ mammography tracking and remote rendering are added to PowerServer®.
By 2017, peer review and DICOM MP4 video are integrated.
RamSoft becomes a Microsoft Gold Partner (Azure) in 2018.
2019 marks RamSoft’s 25th anniversary.

25th anniversary includes SOC 2 audit completion and 150+ cloud customers.

2020 - 2025 30 & Growing

Cloud-Native, AI-Driven, and Built for Scale

Meddiff Technologies is acquired in 2021, expanding RamSoft's global footprint.
OmegaAI® launchs in 2022 as a cloud-native RIS/PACS/VNA platform. Blume®, a patient engagement app, follows in 2023.
By 2025, RamSoft’s global presence expands significantly.

2025 marks RamSoft’s 30th anniversary and major growth in AI.

The Founding Story of RamSoft

Dr. Ramanathan and his sons Vijay and Siva built RamSoft from a shared vision: to democratize medical imaging by building software that empowers every healthcare provider to deliver faster, more accurate care.
