The PowerServer PACS version 4.5 has finally been released. As part of RamSoft’s commitment to our customers and their patients, we have updated our software to take advantage of the latest in security, imaging, and network technologies - and have incorporated many new sought after features. Please take a look at the list below for an overview of the new enhancements and improvements.
New PowerCache and Replication Technology
PowerCache with replication is an exciting new technology from RamSoft. It caches image and related data close to the client workstation so that when a request is made, data is retrieved immediately - without having to wait.
New Physician Portal
The new RamSoft Physician Portal gives physicians the image and report viewing functionally, previously only available in the full PACS viewer, in a light-weight Adobe Flash webpage.
Web-based Digital Breast Imaging
The PowerServer™ PACS now allows radiologists to read digital breast images from anywhere, with its fast and efficient web-based PowerReader clinical workstation. Additionally, mammography specific image management and reporting tools which are typically only found on dedicated workstations, are available to everyone.
Real-time Study Alerts
Real-time alerts provide a quick and easy way of alerting and accessing important studies which requires immediate user attention. Powered by a customizable rules-based engine, facilities can set up alerts based on users, turn-around times, status, and roles. Alerts are also clearly visible at all times and can be configured to produce an audible tone.
Management Reports
Running a radiology-based business can have many challenges; accessing real-time performance metrics to make informed decisions shouldn’t be one of them. That is one of many reasons why the Management Reporting module comes at no extra charge with the PowerServer PACS.

Auto IP Faxing*
Auto-faxing allows for quick distribution of both preliminary and final reports to a referring physician via an IP-based faxing solution. IP Auto Faxed reports retain the look and feel of the digital reports and eliminate the hassle and costs associated with traditional faxing solutions.
New IHE functionality
PowerServer PACS now supports both Storage Commit and MPPS (Modality Performed Procedure Step).
Auto Report Distribution via Email*
Distributing reports through email is convenient, but only if the report conforms to a user’s preferences. RamSoft’s auto email distribution can accommodate most preferences due to a flexible email templating system that enables emailing of attached reports and links.

Active Directory Integration
PowerServer’s new Active Directory Integration provides an easy way for administrators to manage users and groups from within Microsoft Active Directory. It also provides single user sign-on and authentication within a domain, eliminating the clutter and confusion of multiple passwords and log-on screens.
System Check
Site administrators are often faced with the trouble of getting to the root of client installation and connectivity issues. They end up having to use a wide range of tools to isolate the problem and formulate a solution. With PowerServer’s new built-in Client Tester Tool, common issues can be pin-pointed at a glance, freeing your administrator to concentrate on more important tasks.
Auto Reset Passwords
Resetting user passwords is one of those simple yet time consuming tasks every administrator would like to cut down on. The new auto password reset functionality addresses this issue and allows users to reset their passwords online via email.
DICOM Object Custom Scripting
Object scripting has been extended and made available to all routing, receiving and sending operations. |
