One of the biggest workflow challenges facing imaging facilities in today’s world is the lack of association between orders placed by the referring physician and studies created on the modality. This discrepancy makes it difficult to create a single report for multiple related studies resulting is overhead and “creative” solutions.
To combat this problem, RamSoft introduces the concept of study grouping. This new feature allows a reading physician to dictate multiple studies simultaneously into one voice recording. The resulting dictation, as well as the report, becomes associated with all of the studies.
From the reading physician’s point of view, this reduces the amount of time required for dictating multiple related exams regardless of modality and shifts the task of associating each recording with the appropriate exam from man to machine. Similarly, the transcriptionist no longer has to worry about associating the typed report with the desired cases as the software performs all of the linking automatically. Most importantly, the referring physician can receive a single report for related studies.
